Covestro Develops Custom Polycarbonate Applications
Apr 01, 2019
Covestro uses its polycarbonate and polycarbonate blends for CES 2019 electronics, IT and communications applications.
The company said that an important development project is the Embr Wave, a smart bracelet that lets people crack their temperatures.
Embr Labs chose Coxon's Makrolon 2407 polycarbonate, a UV-stabilized grade for frosted tubes with LED as the primary user interface.
For the Embr Wave, a diffuser and an optical brightener are mixed into the resin to achieve the desired visual effect.

At CES2019, Covestro will showcase Embr Labs' heat-resistant health equipment, allowing people to experience changes in temperature.
According to manufacturer Embr Labs, the scientific development of the bracelet can accurately stimulate the body's temperature receptors, using the body's natural system, allowing the wearer to feel cool or warm up to 5 degrees in a matter of minutes.
Joel Matsco, senior marketing manager for Covestro Polycarbonate - Electronics and Electrical Appliances, said: "Color and light are not simple words, simple and effective, but a means of conveying information to users. Covestro is helping brands and electronics. Manufacturers have deep expertise in designing light."
The company is considered to be the only material supplier to exhibit at the CES2019 show in Las Vegas from January 8th to 11th.
